Betsy DeVos, the United States’ education secretary, is a threat to education. Over the past few months, DeVos has shown her disapproval for the public school system, and her hopes to privatize it. Meanwhile, the majority of American students rely on the public-school system for education, as private schools are only obtainable for families of high socio-economic status. Since her forward endorsement of privatizing K-12 schools, DeVos has proposed unscrupulous policies that would pull students further away from their educational, economic, and social needs. Betsy DeVos is a modern Cruella de Vil, as she takes necessities from children and families, for her own monetary benefit.
