In May, Attorney General Jeff Sessions sent a letter asking Congress to authorize the United States Department of Justice to prosecute those who use marijuana for medical or recreational purposes, in states where it is legal. With this, Sessions is actively pushing the U.S. government further away from fully legalizing marijuana nation-wide, which would only be detrimental for American society.

The United States needs to legalize recreational and medical use of marijuana, as soon as possible. Not only could the use of legal marijuana be revolutionary for medical treatment, but it would also cut down massive societal costs.
