Water Is Life

Without water, we have no life. That’s as simple as it gets. Yet, American politicians do not understand that a nation cannot thrive without access to clean drinking water.

A few weeks ago, news broke that the infamous, but now forgotten, Dakota Access Pipeline started to leak, which would affect drinking water to hundreds of communities. East Chicago, Illinois, has traces of lead in its water. Just last week, TYT Politics reporter Jordan Chariton went to Wilmington, North Carolina to give residents the opportunity to speak out against toxic chemicals found in Cape Fear River, a water source that affects hundreds of thousands of people.

Clean and safe drinking water has become a luxury in the United States of America. Every person, regardless of which community they belong in and what socio-economic status they are under deserves access to clean water. Without it, there would be no life.
