A Sweet Treat for J.D. Vance

septiembre 05 2024 – Justin Mickens

A Sweet Treat for J.D. Vance
A Sweet Treat for J.D. Vance

Stop us if you’ve heard this one before. J.D. Vance walks into a donut shop in Georgia. He walks up to the counter and declares, “I’m JD Vance. I’m running for Vice President.” The Store clerk responds, “Okay.” An awkward silence follows. Then the candidate orders two dozen donuts.

It was even worse than what could be described here. JD Vance completely failed at this unplanned photo op. Politicians pull these types of stunts to seem like they’re everyday people. They want to prove to voters that their unwavering allegiance to corporations and the status quo doesn’t prevent them from enjoying the simple joys found inside a fresh doughnut. But no amount of pastry-based appreciation can mask the supernatural social awkwardness of JD Vance.

Of course, we're not here to mock the socially awkward who walk among us. But Vance once said, “I have never felt out of place in my entire life. But I did at Yale.” There are now two places where he has felt out of place.

But as donuts have re-entered the conversation, so has our TYT Donut emblem shirt returned to ShopTYT. This shirt is a real sweet treat. Your purchase supports our mission to push for positive change and serves as a visual reminder of how to compose oneself. DO be a normal person and plan your campaign events accordingly. DO NUT randomly appear at places unless you have the rizz to carry you through any conversation.
