The Resistance Is Working

Last night, Republican efforts to repeal and replace Obamacare came to a halt. After Senate Majority leader Mitch McConnell stated that the installment of Trumpcare will not be successful, Sen. Moran (R-Kan) and Sen Lee (R-UT) simultaneously tweeted that they will not be supporting the new healthcare bill. This means that there are no longer enough votes to pass the disastrous bill that takes healthcare away from over 22 million Americans. 

Just a few months ago, the GOP bill passed through the House, which gave momentum to the reality of over 22 million people potentially losing access to life-saving treatments. So, why the change of heart in a Republican controlled Congress? 

The answer is that the resistance is working. When constituents call their representatives, occupy their offices, expose the inevitable statistics, and put massive public pressure on their leaders... the voters win. 

Although Trumpcare does not currently have enough votes, this does not mean the battle for healthcare is over. Now, more than ever, it is time to pursue a universal health care system. The voters can make it happen.
